Shot Planner is built on free and open data and software. Thank you to everyone below.
Maps, imagery and geographic data
- USGS The National Map: topographic and imagery base maps and satellite thumbnails; PAD-US protected areas (U.S. Geological Survey). Public domain (U.S. Government work).
- OpenStreetMap: the spot index, map features, place search (Nominatim), routing and fallback map tiles. Data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. The app's spot index is a derived database of OpenStreetMap data; it is available under the ODbL on request.
- Photon place search by komoot, using OpenStreetMap data (ODbL).
- Overpass API public instances (overpass-api.de and mirrors) for live OpenStreetMap queries.
- OSRM (Project OSRM) for drive times and nearest roads, with OpenStreetMap data (ODbL).
- Terrain Tiles on the Registry of Open Data on AWS (Mapzen Terrarium format), elevation from USGS 3DEP/NED, SRTM, GMTED2010, ETOPO1 and other sources: see attribution.
Weather, sun and moon
- Open-Meteo: weather forecasts and elevation. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, licensed CC BY 4.0.

Airspace and rules
